Who is K.C. Winters?

K.C. Winters is an author, illustrator, and longtime educator whose work blends watercolor art, historical research, and human storytelling. With more than 25 years of teaching experience, including work in special education, she brings compassion and insight to the stories she tells. She has also spent time living in France, painting and writing, further deepening her artistic voice.

Based in the Pacific Northwest, Winters is especially drawn to little-known chapters of World War II history and the personal stories hidden within them. Her work explores the intersection of history, art, and the unexpected, often highlighting the emotional journeys that arise from difficult events.
